The Dry Tortugas

We wanted one last time to anchor in unspoiled beauty and snorkle before jumping into the fray in the US. The Dry Tortugas fit the bill perfectly and was a wonderful respite.

Due to Covid-19 the fort was closed so we couldn’t go on land and have a tour. Instead, Benjamin gave us a virtual tour with his drone.

We took the boat to a mooring ball by the lighthouse. We dinghied to shore and let Skipper run. Poor little dog hadn’t touched the ground since Belize. We also did some snorkeling in the crystal clear turquoise waters.

We only spent a few days in Dry Tortugas. We would have loved to spend longer but we had a weather window to continue heading east to the Keys as we make our way back home.
