The horse that threw us

DSC00836Tuesday, May 26th, we decided to get back on the horse that threw us.  The boat was hosed off, the linens washed, everyone had recuperated from Sea Trial #3 and the weather looked beautiful.  We decided to head back out and just sail on the Brunswick River.  The sky was beautiful, the wind a breezy 15 knots, the waves minimal, so we decided it was a good chance to raise the sails and practice tacking.  It was a relatively narrow channel and the wind was just 30-45 degrees off our bow, so it was quick tacks (meaning frequent zigzags because we were almost sailing into the wind).  I was at the helm while Kim and Ben tacked the jib.  Ben even got to teach Granddad how to use the winch and adjust the sails.
