Heading home

After spending the night at the Pelican Yacht Club Marina in Fort Pierce we got up bright and early to start heading back north. The plan is to return home in two long days.  The first leg would be all the way to Cape Canaveral.  Fortunately it was a beautiful trip, nice weather, nice breeze, beautiful scenery.

We travelled North up the ICW and then turned East into the Canaveral Barge Canal which connects the Indian and Banana Rivers.

We stayed in a little marina right off the canal. It was well sheltered, we had a slip that we could tie up stern to, it had a small fenced dog park area and a swimming pool. Perfect for our family!  The kids spent the evening cooling off in the pool.  The dogs galloped around that fenced enclosure.  And all went to bed that night happy and exhausted.
