Feliz Navidad

Merry Christmas from Mexico. We had a lovely day, warm in the 70s, relaxing together.

We decorated Wonderstruck for Christmas.

It is a different Christmas. If this complex were in the USA it would be decorated and piping Christmas music since Halloween. They do have some scattered Christmas decorations, but no Christmas carols playing anywhere we go. I never realized before how much I associate music with Christmas.

We made Christmas cookies, although I had no cookie cutters to make the shapes, and everything including the royal icing had to be whipped by hand. We made a snowman, ornament, tree, star, fish, candy cane, sombrero, and round “free style” cookie for each of us.

We had fun hanging out and decorating them, and then eating them later with lots of milk.

Aislin dyed Skipper’s hair for the occasion. He looked very festive!

We had an amazing dinner Christmas eve. We went to Cafe Olé, a restaurant that has been here for 30 years, under same ownership for 23. It usually serves Mexican food, but the owner is from Kansas and cooked an American dinner. It was delicious!
