Finca El Paraíso part 2

As our time in Guatemala was winding down we had a family meeting–what is a must-do before leaving? And one answer was unanimous–let’s go back to Finca El Paraíso. This time we took a collectiva and our friends Bill and Andie, and Melvin (the Spanish teacher) with us.

We went at 10 in the morning and we brought a lunch so we could spend most of the day there. It was less crowded, most of the local kids were still in school.

When we arrived there was one other family, and of course Ben made friends immediately and started playing with the little boy. Wherever he goes, he’s like the pied piper for 8-12 year old boys.

The waterfall was as hot as we remembered it being, and mixed with the cool water of the river to find a perfect temperature for lounging.

Kim and Aislin enjoyed the fish nibbling on their legs, it still wigs me out.

The water level was low enough we were able to enjoy the caves behind the waterfalls and I was able to get some pictures this time with the underwater camera.

It was the perfect day. Nice weather, nice company, and you can’t beat the surrounding natural beauty.
